"1000 years of song" explores the apache girl's entry into womanhood. It is the tribe's traditional puberty rite and lasts four days. Also known as the sunrise dance, the main ceremony takes place on the third day with the girl facing the sun at dawn. Written and produced by Jay Cravath and Rick Ench. 1996.
